Congratulations to the 2017 Honorary Mayor of Beaverdam. Sandy Monolo was given this honor at the Beaverdam Heritage Days event on October 14, 2017. We all wish her the best!

The Beaverdam Ruritan Club located at 18002 Teman Road, Beaverdam, Virginia was chartered on May 28, 1951 with 74 members.  Today we have over 30 members.

We are a community-based organization that provides the following services in our community:

Easter Sunrise Service - The Beaverdam Ruritan Club in conjunction with local churches in the area holds an Easter Sunrise service every year under the pavilion. The service begins at 7:00 AM with free coffee, juice, and donuts. Everyone is welcome; casual to church attire is acceptable.

Beaverdam Youth League Facilities Support - The Beaverdam Ruritan Club supports the community by providing grounds and concessions for Beaverdam Youth League girls' softball, baseball, football, and cheerleading. For more information on the Beaverdam Youth League, click here.

July 4th/Independence Day Parade and Celebration - Since 1976, the Beaverdam Ruritan Club has been sponsoring the July 4th/Independence Day Parade where participants compete for awards in several categories. Starting in the heart of Beaverdam at Trainham Road, anyone and everyone can be in the parade, ending at the Ruritan Park. There are lots of activities and games for the kids with hot dogs, hamburgers, french fries, and the best BBQ Chicken Dinners you can find (made using Elmore Hall's secret recipe). There is also a Miss Beaverdam contest where girls in specified age groups are crowned Miss Beaverdam.

National Night Out - Always the first Tuesday of August, the Beaverdam Ruritan Club participates in the National Night Out Against Crime campaign. It is a great time to meet your neighbors and see old friends. Local deputies are onsite along with representatives from the Virginia State Police, the Hanover County Sheriff's Department, local Fire and EMS, and Law Enforcement Explorers Post 606. The Ruritans provide free food and drink and host games for everyone. Some of the fun events include a donut-eating contest and a pie-judging contest.

B'dam Brew JAM Craft Beer Festival - The B'dam Brew JAM Craft Beer Festival is held on the second Saturday in September. Local craft beer breweries are available for tastings and a variety of vendors sell their wares. Live bands play great music while guests drink up and enjoy the food. The festivities are outside with a smoke free climate-controlled Club House open for your dining pleasure. Bring a chair or blanket to sit outside and enjoy the music.
